[Review] Caught Stealing (2025)

Today I watched Caught Stealing. I usually love horror movies, but today I decided to try something different. I found this film by chance, and at first I thought it would be bad, but I was totally wrong.

Caught Stealing tells the story of Hank Thompson, a former baseball player trying to survive in New York during the 1990s. The movie can be classified as an American black comedy thriller. Hank is a kind son who calls his mother in Patterson, California, every day, and they always talk about the San Francisco Giants.

One day, Hank’s friend Russ needs to go back to England because his father is ill. He asks Hank to take care of his cat, Bud. That’s when the trouble begins. Soon, two Russian men start looking for Russ, and things get out of control. Detective Elise Roman tries to help Hank, but a big twist changes everything. There are also two Jewish mobster brothers, and somehow all of this gets mixed up with Hank’s love for a woman named Yvonne.

The most interesting thing about this film is how Hank’s love for the cat, Bud, helps him face his past. He once dreamed of playing baseball, but after a car accident that killed his friend and left him with a broken knee, he lost that chance. Through all the chaos, Hank finds a strange kind of redemption.

In my opinion, this movie is amazing! I really enjoyed it.

[Review] Apartment 7A

The other day, I watched a good film called Apartment 7A. I enjoy psychological thriller films, and this movie fits the bill. Natalie Erika James direct this film, co-written with Christian White and Skylar James. The actors are Julia Garner, Dianne Wiest, Kim Sturgess, and Kevin McNally. The film follows a young dancer living in New York City. She rents a room from an elderly couple. But what she didn’t know, there is a dark history about this apartment. The old couple offered a young dancer a promising present and future. As the movie unfolds, we discover the steep price of success. I highly recommend this film!
